FOOD AT FERNLEAF
LUNCH
FernLeaf believes in and fosters a healthy eating mentality with our staff and students. In addition to fueling their bodies with nourishing food, FernLeaf also believes it is important to expose children to a variety of food offerings to help them discover new tastes, expand their palates, and learn about food from cultures around the world. FernLeaf offers a variety of unique and healthy lunch options for students and staff at a modest cost.
Support for families in need will be provided based on Federal Poverty Guidelines. If you would like financial support please fill out this form. If you would like to donate support for the FernLeafer lunch fund, there is an option to "Buy a Lunch for a Buddy" in My Payments Plus.
Lunch is a la carte, meaning you only order and pay for the days you want it for your child. Please place your order by the Friday at 1:00 PM BEFORE the week you are ordering for. We cannot accommodate late orders.
If you have any questions about our lunch program please email here.
NOTE: School lunches may be ordered up to 2 weeks in advance of the meal date. Food for lunches is ordered and paid for in advance after an order has been submitted therefore FernLeaf will not provide refunds for lunches that are missed due to conflicts with fieldwork, absences, or other circumstances resulting in a missed lunch.
Proudly serving Hickory Nut Gap Meats & local farm fresh vegetables!
SNACKS
FernLeaf students have a mentally & physically active day. We ask that all students pack a healthy snack every day to help fuel their growing minds and bodies. We have a NO soda or candy policy.
TRANSPORTATION
FernLeaf offers bus service to help students and families who might otherwise not be able to access our unique programming. Free morning pickup and afternoon drop off is available in convenient locations throughout the Asheville and Hendersonville areas.
Seats are limited, so access to bus transportation is determined through a lottery, similar to the regular student enrollment process that happens in the July PRIOR to each school year.
FernLeaf offers a daily morning shuttle service departing the Creek Campus at 7:45am for families with students at both the Creek and Wilderness Campuses. Families may drop off all students at the Creek Campus by going through car rider line as normal (drop off at the basketball hoops) between 7:30 and 7:40am for 5th-11th graders to use the shuttle. The shuttle may not be used once it has left its loading area so please transport your student to the Wilderness Campus if you miss the shuttle. There is no shuttle service available in the afternoon since busing is needed for Wilderness Campus students enrolled in Extended Care and after school activities.
