Chante Barnett

Lower School Counselor

Chante is a Western North Carolina native and considers it a privilege to be able to work closely with students and give back to the community that means so much to her. Chante finished her undergraduate degree at UNC Asheville, and received a master’s in Exercise Sport Science from Texas Tech University. Most recently, Chante received a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with certificates in School Counseling and Trauma Counseling in August of 2024. Her past career endeavors include a stint in college athletics in different capacities, and local non-profit work.

 

With her passions lying in helping others and giving back to the community, Chante is currently a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counseling Associate, Nationally Certified Counselor, and Licensed School Counselor in North Carolina. Prior to her counseling career, Chante worked very closely with the Buncombe County Schools system in leading a grant-funded afterschool program and summer camps for middle and elementary schools across Buncombe County with the YMCA of Western North Carolina.

 

Chante looks forward to supporting students, families, and the FernLeaf school community. When not at school, Chante loves spending time with her family, her dog Porter, enjoying the outdoors, reading, and traveling with her husband.
