Jo Phipps

Jo’s passion for caring for others began in high school where she spent time as a student TA for the exceptional children program at a local area school, teaching music as a volunteer with a youth jazz band, and providing childcare for neighboring families. Following graduation, she studied at AB Tech earning an A.A.S. in fire protection while being an active emergency service member here in western North Carolina. 

Though born just outside of Philadelphia, she has called the Blue Ridge Mountains home for over twenty years. Currently Jo is working to earn a bachelors in engineering from UNC Charlotte. When not studying or caring for others her time is spent with her family outdoors, enjoying good food with friends, writing poetry, and practicing yoga. Mindfulness, yoga, and meditation have become an intricate part of daily life for Jo and have inspired her to share those practices with those around her in hopes of making the world a little kinder every day.
