Leah Banford
2nd Grade Teacher
Leah Banford's passion for teaching can be traced back to growing up in a family of elementary educators. She grew up in Georgia, and later moved to the mountains of Colorado, where she worked at a dude ranch and as a photographer at a ski resort before continuing her education and building a life there for the next 20 years.
For the first 11 years of her teaching career, Leah developed the K-5 music curriculum, and taught music and small group reading intervention at Crested Butte Community School in Crested Butte, Colorado, until her roots called her back to Appalachia.
Leah is a graduate of Western Colorado University, where she studied elementary education. When she is not busy teaching, she can be found with her husband, Jeff, rocking out at a concert, or snuggling with their Boston terrier, Big Papi.
