Lisa Spalding
3rd Grade Teacher
Lisa's passion for teaching can be traced back to her love of working with children which began at 15 years of age. She began coaching softball and knew then, she wanted to be a teacher. Lisa grew up in Winter Park Florida and moved to Raleigh in 1990 where she continued her career.
Lisa has been an educator for 36 years, teaching elementary school for 16 and then becoming an administrator. She served as an Elementary School Principal for 20 years. She recently retired from Wake County Public Schools to pursue the dream of living in the mountains.
Lisa is a graduate of Rollins College where she majored in Elementary Education and Early Childhood. She has earned two Master’s Degrees from North Carolina State University. One in “Parks, Recreation and Tourism Management” and the other in “School Administration”. In her spare time, she explores our mountains and the huge variety of hiking areas and other outdoor activities available in the area. She enjoys working in the yard and playing with her dog, Carter. You’ll also find her watching any game played by the NCSU Wolfpack!
