Ryan Lubbers

Ryan is a passionate outdoor enthusiast and has taught outdoor and environmental education in WNC for the last 20 years.  He is also a “science nerd” with a keen interest in the biological world.  Living an active lifestyle that includes a variety of outdoor sports is a key tennant in his core philosophy. 

Ryan has spent the last few years in Costa Rica teaching Biology at a bilingual school with his wife and two kids and enjoys exploring the rainforest whenever he gets the opportunity.  He is a firm believer that experiential education is one of the best ways to reach students and have a positive, long-lasting impact and looks forward to a fun school year full of outdoor adventures with the FernLeaf community.
